Ranchi, Oct.28: Scaling boundary wall miscreants entered the residence of BJP MLA from Godda in Jharkhand Amit Mandal and injured him with a sharp edged weapon.
The incident took place on Wednesday late night when the MLA was sitting at his Bhagalpur residence at Sumrit Mandal Complex under Tilka Manjhi police station when the legislator was sitting on his verandah.
The MLA sustained injuries at his stomach and left hand.
An FIR was registered in this connection. The MLA is out of danger though the doctor is examining his injury properly with the help of X-Ray and UltraSonography.
Police suspect the hand of a sand mafia or political rival in the incident.
A police official said: “The MLA sustained injuries after he caught one of the miscreants and attempted to take him inside his house to hand over to the police.”
Asked about miscreants the police official said: “Miscreants escaped taking advantage of darkness.”
