Chaibasa: Illegal possession by non-tribal Banwari Lal Neotia on eight acres of land

Chaibasa, July 9: The members of the Kolhan Bhoomi Bachao Samiti met Chairman of the Scheduled Castes, Tribes, Minorities, Backward Classes Welfare Committee and co-MLA Lobin Hembram at the Circuit House in Chaibasa. The members made a written complaint to the MLA about the illegal encroachment of CNT land in Chaibasa by non-tribals. Committee chairman Vinod Kumar Sawaiyan told chairman Lobin Hembram that a total of eight acres of land belonging to four tribal villagers in Tungri of Chaibasa is in illegal possession of a non-tribal Banwari Lal Nevatiya.

Vinod Savaiya said that help the victims get justice in this situation. Apart from this, there is illegal occupation of hundreds of acres of CNT land by non-tribals in Dumbisai, Diliamarcha, Khaparsai, Sufalsai, Matkamahatu, Neemdih areas. Due to the help of corrupt officials, action is not being taken against these occupants despite complaints. Vinod Kumar Sawaiyan also raised the problem of displacement due to Kuju Dam. He said that due to displacement, the place of worship and Jaherthan of the tribals will also be ruined.

Lobin Hembram assured to look into the matter after hearing the complaint. Also talked about inspecting the illegally occupied site. Prior to this, the members of the Bhoomi Bachao Samiti paid tribute to Purnachandra Pidhi on his birth anniversary in the Tata College campus by garlanding his statue. Dibar Devgam, Bhagwan Devgam, Chahat Devgam, Prakash Devgam, Rameshwar Birua etc were present on the occasion.
