Chandil: Police seize two tractors carrying illegal sand, drivers absconding

Chandil, July 30: Sand smuggling is not stopping even after lakhs of efforts by the police administration. Sand traders are smuggling sand illegally by throwing dust in the eyes of the police administration. In this sequence, the police of Tiruldih police station under Chandil sub-division raided late on Saturday night and seized two tractors carrying sand illegally.

While raiding on the instructions of Dr Bimal Kumar, Superintendent of Police of Seraikela-Kharsawan district, both the tractors have been seized from near the Datum of Tiruldih police station area. On seeing the police vehicle, the drivers of both the tractors fled taking advantage of the darkness. In this regard, the process of registering an FIR is going on in the Tiruldih police station.

According to the information, both the tractors were being secretly loaded with sand from the Subarnarekha river and taken to West Bengal whose secret information was received by the police of Tiruldih police station.

While raiding under the leadership of Tiruldih police station in-charge Chittaranjan Kumar for verification of information, the police of Tiruldih police station caught both the tractors near Birsa Chowk datum, during which the drivers of both the tractors fled taking advantage of the darkness. And after this, the police seized both the tractors and brought them to Tiruldih police station.

Giving information in this regard, Tiruldih police station in-charge Chittaranjan Kumar said that both the tractors have been seized and kept in Tiruldih police station and a report has been made to the Circle Officer of Kukdu for further action which will be taken after receipt of written application from Circle Officer.
