Chandil, Sept 24: An accused, Premkant Lohara, residing in Choga, within the Ichagarh police station area in the Chandil subdivision, has been arrested by the police on charges of rape against a minor.
The allegation against him is that he frightened and threatened a minor, took her to a field, and raped her. A written complaint about the rape was filed by the victim’s family with the Ichagarh police station, leading to the registration of a case against the accused.
In connection with this incident, a case has been registered under Section 376AB, Section 506, and the POCSO Act against the accused at the Ichagarh police station.
The minor girl informed her family about the incident, after which the victim’s family reached Ichagarh police station and informed the police.
After receiving the written information, the police registered an FIR and arrested the accused within 24 hours. The police has sent the victim girl along with her family members for medical examination. The police is investigating the matter.
