Hazaribag, July 14: Commissioner of North Chotanagapur Commissionerate Suman Cathrine Kispotta taking charge of Vinoba Bhave University (VBU) as an acting Vice-Chancellor (VC) has raised several eyebrows. She replaced Ajeet Kumar Sinha in only 37 days who is presently the Vice-Chancellor of Ranchi University and was given the additional charge of VBU.
Sources said Sinha took charge after Dr Mukul Narayan Deo completed his term and retired. But Dr Deo, a former scientist of Bhabha Atomic Research Centre was charged with wrong decisions and misuse of funds making many student organisations and political leaders demand for a probe against him. But Dr Deo always denied all such allegations on various occasions.
But now Kispotta taking charge from Sinha, many in the university said this decision was taken to save Dr Deo. They said Sinha was taking action on complaints against Dr.Deo and so he was removed in a hurry in only 37 days to shield the former VC of VBU.
Senior BJP leader Anupam Sinha blamed the JMM government for removing Sinha. He said this was an exercise to save Dr Deo. He said they will raise those issues on a suitable platform.
