VISHVENDU JAIPURIAR
Chatra, April.7: Prayag Bhuiyan went to Kerala three years ago to work there as a daily wage labourer. But he went missing from Ernakulam of Kerala making his sons search for him in this southern state but they failed. On Wednesday, the night when Prayag returned to his village Pitij Hurnali in temple town Itkhori, he got a big welcome from his relatives and villagers as his return was unexpected because all assumed him dead.
50-year-old Prayag is happy that he is finally with his family now. He shared whatever happened to him in these three years but failed to give all details. He said in the year 2020, he left for Kerela and reached Ernakulam. He joined those from his villages who were working there as daily wage labourers. Two days later, he stepped out of his room in the night and walked away without any knowledge to others. He only remembered that he walked for miles for a few days and reached a village. Seeing a stranger, the villagers informed the police. He was taken to a police station but as he failed to tell his name and whereabouts, the police handed him to a centre which takes care of orphans. Police officials understood that he had lost his memory.
According to Prayag, he was getting good food and care there at the centre. Fifteen days ago, he got his memory back and told the caretaker his name, address and everything. The local police were informed and contacted their counterparts in Chatra and finally, his sons were told about their father in Kerela. Through video call, he talked to his wife, five sons and two married daughters. On seeing him alive all started crying as they had lost all hope to see him again.
His son Mithun Bhuiyan said as they came to know that their father went missing from Kerela, they reached there three years ago. We searched for him everywhere spending money but it was all in vain. Finally, we returned back hopeless, he added.
But as the family saw Prayag through video call, they failed to keep their emotions under control. Finally, his sons went to Kerela with his valid identity proofs and other documents so as to bring him back. Mithun said there is a language problem in the southern state but they want to thank the police who made this reunion possible.
Prayag’s family, relatives and villagers applied gulal to each other as he reached his village on Wednesday night. I want to thank the police and also the almighty because of whom, it became possible, added Prayag with a smile
