Chauparan, July 30: The Chauparan Forest Department (Territorial Forest Range Chauparan) seized a bullock cart loaded with wooden logs at around 2 am on 30th July. Giving information in this regard, in-charge Forester Rahul Kumar said that action was taken on the basis of secret information.
Jaswant Singh, a resident of village Doiya, who has become a headache for the Forest Department, was caught carrying wood. But he managed to escape by taking advantage of the darkness. Earlier also he used to cut the forest of Tetaria, Tajpur and Kevaliya near GT Road and sell wood in nearby villages.
The seized wood and bullock cart have been brought to the Forest Department office. The forester also said that wherever wood is supplied by Jaswant Singh, strict action will be taken after checking all the places. Those who buy wood are as guilty as those who sell it.
In-charge forester Rahul Kumar, forest guard Pankaj Kumar, Ajit Kumar Ganjhu, home guard Umesh Kumar and driver Sukhdev Yadav were included in the raiding team.
