Jamshedpur, Oct 15: To clear the extra rush of passengers during the Chhath festival, South Eastern Railway has decided to run one pair of special trains between Shalimar and Barhni leaving Shalimar on October 27 and leaving Barhni on October 29.
- 08117 Shalimar-Barhni Special will leave Shalimar at 7.55 pm on October 27 and will reach Barhni at 10 pm, the next day.
- In the return direction, 08118 Barhni-Shalimar Special will depart Barhni on October 29 at 8 am and will reach Shalimar at 10 am, the next day.
The train with two AC 2 Tier, two AC 3 Tier, twelve sleeper class and two general second class coaches will have stoppages at Santragachi, Kharagpur, Tatanagar, Purulia, Bhojudih and Mohuda stations in South Eastern Railway jurisdiction.
Chhotanagpur Passenger Association welcomed the railway’s decision of announcing the Chhath special train.
This year the four-day Chhath festival will begin on October 28.
