New Delhi, July 5: The Chhattisgarh police attempted to arrest Rohit Ranjan, an anchor for Zee News who is stationed in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, on Tuesday in connection with a FIR that had been filed against him in an effort to intimidate the free press.
However, the local authority was not made aware of the Chattisgarh Police’s early morning visit. A journalist at Zee News, Rohit Ranjan just began hosting the acclaimed programme DNA. The journalist for Zee News took to Twitter shortly after the Chhattisgarh Police arrested him in his residential community without notifying him first. He claimed that this was done without following the proper legal procedures and that the Chhattisgarh Police had come to his home in Uttar Pradesh to pick him up.
