CID to probe death of PLFI militant Shanichar Surin

Ranchi: PLFI militant Shanichar Surin was killed in an encounter near Pidig and Barakansal villages of Guddi police station area of ??West Singhbhum district. In this case, according to the guidelines of the National Human Rights Commission, the investigation of Shanichar’s death will be done by the CID. State Police CID has started action in this regard.

Shanichar Surin, a reward of 10 lakhs, killed in an encounter in the forests of Gudadi

An encounter took place between the police and the PLFI militants on the late night of July 16 near Pidig and Barakansal villages under Gudri police station area of ??West Singhbhum district. In this encounter, PLFI zonal commander Shanichar Surin, a reward of 10 lakhs, was killed by the police. Shanichar was originally a resident of Sarita village under Kamdara police station in Gumla district.

After killing Shanichar in an encounter, the Khunti and Chaibasa police jointly conducted a search operation in the entire Gudri area. During this, the police have recovered a large amount of items including two motorcycles, pistols, katta, pithu. A reward of Rs 10 lakh was declared on him. A total of 84 cases related to murder, attempt to murder, extortion, arson, attack on police and other Naxalite incidents are registered against Shanichar Surin. Of these, 32 cases are registered in Khunti, 50 in Chaibasa and 02 in Gumla.
