Ranchi, June 30: Body of a cinema hall employee, Rajat Kumar (25), was recovered in his rented house located in a street in front of Pantaloon showroom, with his both hands tied together from front using a towel. The place is under Lalpur police station area.
The body was recovered late night on Thursday. An FIR was yet to be registered in this connection.
Officer-in-charge of concerned police station Mamta Kumari confirmed the recovery but expressed her inability to give any conclusive statement in the matter.
“Neither I noticed any injury marks on his body nor recovered any suicide note from the room. Room’s key was in the deceased’s pocket. In this situation it is difficult to say how he died. So far no one has turned up for registration of an FIR. We will register an FIR based on the information coming from the deceased’s family member,” OC Kumari said, expressing her inability to give any conclusive statement.
Asked about family, OC Kumari said: “His family resides at Chutia. He was staying in the rented room for the last one month following some dispute in the family over loan repayment.”
S.P.(city) Subhanshu Jain expressed his inability to comment saying ‘probe is on.’
A locality resident said Rajat was noticed hanging from the window. “When his friends reached the spot, they tried to open the door but the door was locked from inside. His friends broke open the door and took down the body. However, by then Rajat had died. The key of the house has also been recovered from Rajat’s pocket. There is no other door to exit the room,” the resident said.
