Jamshedpur, Oct 20: Good news for Pandal hoppers. Today Maha Sasthi, the first day of Durga Puja will be bright and sunny across Jharkhand.

Weathermen ruled out the possibility of rain today. No significant synoptic condition prevails over Jharkhand.

The cyclonic circulation over the southeast Bay of Bengal in lower tropospheric levels persists over the same region.

It is likely to move northwestwards and under its influence, a Low-Pressure Area is likely to form over central parts of the Bay of Bengal by October 21 morning.

Thereafter, it is likely to intensify further into a depression over Westcentral Bay of Bengal around October 23.

Therefore, light rain might take place in some places over Jharkhand on October 24, Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon has withdrawn from the entire country on Thursday.

Light to moderate rain was observed at isolated places over the state.

The highest maximum temperature of 33.5°C was recorded at Jamshedpur while the lowest minimum temperature of 18.5°C was recorded at Ramgarh yesterday.
