Jamshedpur, May 31: Premier B-school XLRI on Tuesday conducted Clockspeed 2.0, an online conclave on industry best practices.
The event was packed with a series of guest lecture sessions, interactive panel discussions, exciting case competitions, and keynote addresses by an eclectically assembled list of industry leaders and supply chain practitioners.
The event aimed at serving as a platform for sharing best industry practices for overcoming disruptions in the supply chain.
The conclave started with an inaugural address by Dr Tata L. Raghu Ram, chairperson of Father Arrupe Centre for Ecology & Sustainability and Associate Professor of Strategic Management at XLRI Jamshedpur.
He discussed the challenges that managers face while trying to integrate sustainability into supply chains – is there value or will there be conflicts? Can the conflicts be resolved and reconciled to achieve greater broader sustainability objectives at the global level? After a thorough discussion, he concluded by stating that “The art and science of management has to catch up with sustainability – beyond compliance is the way forward.”
It was followed by the address of the chief guest Prashant Yadav, affiliate professor of Technology and Operations Management, INSEAD on Musings on Supply Chains that Save Lives and Improve Sustainability.
He said, “Sustainability in supply chains is an emerging but challenging era. Supply chain progress is highly uneven across individual consumption products vs social benefit products. Modern supply chains are highly interconnected & global.”
The session was then followed by Ranjan Sinha, chief of Group Shipping, Tata Steel on the topic: “Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity & Ambiguity: How to best position people, processes and technology to define supply chain vision for 2025 and beyond.”
The first-panel discussion was moderated by Bijaya K Mangaraj, Professor – Production, Operations and Decision Sciences, XLRI Jamshedpur.
The topic of the session was ‘Do Supply Chains run the risk of Disruption due to ESG concerns.’
This eclectic panel comprised Jasmeet Singh Marwah, vice president, Moglix, Naresh Babu Gutta, director- of Business Finance and Procurement, Snapdeal, Arvind Singh Rana, Partner, Vector Consulting Group, Richa Pant, founder, Harmony Inc.
This was followed by a second-panel discussion on the topic ‘Can Digital accelerate our Journey to Net Zero.’
