Ranchi: In response to the intensifying heatwave across Jharkhand, Chief Minister Hemant Soren has issued directions to all government offices, district administrations, and public representatives to ensure adequate drinking water facilities outside their premises and at public spaces for ordinary citizens.

Who Has Been Directed and What Is Required

All DCs, SPs, police station in-charges, COs, BDOs, panchayat representatives, and government offices have been asked to set up drinking water arrangements outside their offices. Clear information about the availability of water must also be displayed so that passersby and commuters can easily access relief.

Tankers and Repairs on Priority

All Deputy Commissioners have been directed to ensure that wherever a water shortage exists, immediate supply must be arranged through tankers. Repairs of non-functional hand pumps and other alternative water arrangements must also be completed without delay.

No Village or Mohalla Should Face Water Shortage

The government has made it clear that no village, tola, or mohalla should face inconvenience due to lack of drinking water, describing it as the collective responsibility of the administration and all concerned departments. The government has also directed officials to work with full sensitivity, urgency, and a humanitarian approach during this period of extreme heat.
