Ranchi, Sept.30: Chief Minister Hemant Soren during a review of the Rural Development Department on Thursday, directed that the poor should be covered by the housing scheme. According to the CM, the scheme should be available to all those in need by October 15. He also emphasised the importance of properly implementing MGNREGA initiatives.
In order to evaluate the Birsa Harit Gram Yojana, he stated that tree planting should take place in areas with irrigation infrastructure. The needy class, such as the elderly, widows, or any other helpless person, should be employed in irrigation work and paid through MGNREGA. He also asked to include age-related information on the MGNREGA job card.
Talking about the status of the Phoolo Jhanno Ashirwad Abhiyan, the CM stated that it is a crucial scheme. “We must provide women with a respectable source of income by diverting them away from the production and sale of wine liquor. All Deputy Commissioners should seek to ensure that women involved in this profession have other economic opportunities in the future. Ensure that such ladies do not return to their previous occupation. In addition, the sisters who sell wine and liquor in metropolitan areas should be involved in this effort”, he added.
The Chief Minister said that the Palash brand products should be used in government buildings like circuit houses, government schools, prisons, government offices etc. There should also be a task of connecting the women coming in the Phoolo-Jhanno Ashirwad Abhiyan with the Palash brand.
“To make the discussions of women empowerment meaningful we should ensure the economic self-reliance of women by bringing them under the umbrella of Palash brand,” said the CM.
