New Delhi, Dec 28: Amid rising Covid-19 cases, Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal announced on Tuesday a yellow alert or level 1 of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) will be imposed in the Capital .
“we are enforcing Level-I (Yellow alert) of the Graded Response Action Plan. A detailed order on restrictions to be implemented will be released soon,” said Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal.
“The city’s Covid-19 positive rate has been above 0.5 per cent over the last few days,” he added.

Notably, when the Covid positivity rate exceeds 0.5 percent for two days in a row, a ‘yellow’ alert is issued. It includes restrictions such as night curfews, school and college closures, alternate day openings of non-essential stores, and halved seating capacity in Metro trains and public transportation buses, among other things.
Delhi is already under night lockdown restrictions since Monday. It remains in effect from 11pm to 5am, till further orders.
According to the health department, on Monday Delhi reported 331 fresh Covid-19 cases, the highest single-day rise since June 9, and one death while the positivity rate mounted to 0.68 per cent. On Tuesday, the national capital reported 165 cases of Omicron.
