CM vows quality higher education in Jharkhand

Ranchi, Aug.12: Chief Minister Hemant Soren today asked officials to assess the mode of education being used in different states to ensure quality higher education to the students of Jharkhand.

Soren was talking to officials of the higher and technical education department during a review meeting. at his office.

He asked the officials to chalk out a proper plan to improve higher education, adding that without the same it will be difficult to ensure quality education to students.

There is a deficit of teachers in colleges and universities for imparting higher education. On which Chief Minister Soren directed them to hold a meeting with the vice-chancellors to know where the problem is and how it can be sorted out.

CM Soren on the occasion asked them to ensure online and offline libraries and the availability of books in it according to the demand of students.

Regarding institutions running on public-private partnership mode, CM Soren asked officials to ensure that local students should get the maximum benefit from it.

The CM was very much serious about women’s education in Bokaro. He asked the officials to improve the condition of Bokaro Women’s College and for this, he suggested talking to officials of Steel Authority of India Limited for a building where the college could be shifted. He also asked them to use the building of the engineering college to run the degree college till it is used for technical education.

 

The CM, on the occasion, also collected information regarding newly constructed and under construction college buildings, progress in polytechnic institutions, and projects related to the establishment of colleges for women.

The chief minister also viewed the presentation of the Jharkhand Education Grid to include quality in education.

Those present during the review meeting included additional chief secretary K.K.Khandelwal, principal secretary to CM Rajeev Arun Ekka, secretary to CM, Vinay Kumar Choubey besides director (higher education) A Muthukumar, director (technical education) Arun Kumar besides others.
