Ayodhya: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath addressed a grand event in Ayodhya’s Rudauli assembly constituency on Friday, amid an escalating controversy over alleged embezzlement of Ram Temple donations, with Samajwadi Party chief and former CM Akhilesh Yadav continuing to attack the Yogi government over the issue.

SIT Investigating Donation Scam

The Yogi government has constituted an SIT which has begun its investigation into the donation scam allegations. Addressing the controversy, CM Yogi said the Ram Temple’s construction was the result of a 500-year struggle and warned that no one should dare to defame Ayodhya. He said anyone with evidence of fund misappropriation should hand it over to the SIT, which would investigate thoroughly and take strict action.

Sharp Attack on Samajwadi Party

Taking a sharp swipe at the opposition, particularly the SP, CM Yogi said those levelling allegations were only working to defame Ayodhya, accusing them of having ordered firing on Ram devotees in the past, lathi-charging people for chanting “Shri Ram,” and fighting court cases against Lord Ram. He warned against any commentary or character assassination until the SIT’s investigation report is out, while assuring the public that no culprit would be spared.

Development Projects Launched

Earlier in the day, Yogi Adityanath inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 126 development projects worth over Rs 378 crore, including a Government Ayurvedic College and Hospital, and unveiled a statue of freedom fighter Jhalkari Bai. He also announced that his government has launched several schemes honouring Rani Lakshmibai, Rani Durgavati, Avantibai Lodhi, Jhalkari Bai, and Uda Devi, including the formation of three new women PAC battalions named after Avantibai Lodhi, Jhalkari Koli, and Uda Devi Pasi.
