Ranchi, April 11: Ranchi Municipal Corporation enforcement personnel’s Khaki uniform has disturbed the businessmen fraternity.

This was reflected after a delegation of the Federation of Jharkhand Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FJCCI) discussed the issue with DGP Ajay Kumar Singh at his office.

The delegation, which was led by FJCCI Chairman Kishore Mantri, explained how the enforcement personnel are mistaken as police due to this Khaki uniform and the confusion causes problems.

The delegation during the meeting also gave several suggestions for qualitative improvement in the legal system of the state.

Law and order sub-committee chairman Praveen Lohia talked about organizing police-business coordination committee meetings in all districts with the help of the Chamber of Commerce under the leadership of SP. It was said that the committee will help the administration control criminal incidents at the local level.

Mantri apprised the DGP of the problems being faced due to non-deputation of trained traffic police force in the traffic police station which was started in Giridih four years ago and urged for the appointment of trained traffic police force in Giridih.

Other issues discussed during the meeting include delay in investigation of accidental commercial vehicles.

“In minor accidents, commercial vehicles are seized and vehicle owners are forced to approach the court for bail of the vehicle. It is a time-consuming exercise. It causes loss of vehicle permit, fitness, tax and insurance. According to Rule 215 of the Jharkhand Motor Vehicle Act, in case of an accident, the commercial vehicles of the state should be released immediately by the concerned police station after taking a PR bond so that the business of commercial vehicles is not affected. Orders in this regard have also been issued earlier by the Karnataka High Court. It may be noted that from auto rickshaw owners to bus owners and members of truck owners’ association in many districts of the state, concerns are regularly raised on this subject before the chamber but nothing has been done in this regard so far,” Mantri said.

Emphasizing on making Tiger Mobile more powerful during the meeting, the delegation demanded re-starting of Tiger Mobile patrol service in all the districts at the state level. The difficulties faced by the hotel operators by physically going to the police station and submitting the daily reports were also discussed. It was urged that arrangements should be made by the concerned police station to get the daily report of the hotel through email or WhatsApp.
