Ranchi, Jan 12: The President of the All Jharkhand Student’s Union (AJSU) Party Sudesh Kumar Mahto on Thursday appealed to youth to come forward with a new resolve for a comprehensive social, political and economic change to build a better Jharkhand.
Stating that it was the day of introspection, he said that it was time for separating the present from the threshold of the past and to resolve to improve the future. “It is the day to retaliate against the anti-youth characteristics of the system and to analyse the shattered dreams of great men, martyrs and agitators,” he added.
Mahto was speaking at the ‘Utho Jaago Sankalp March’ taken out by the All Jharkhand Students Union, a subsidiary unit of AJSU party on the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekanand and to commemorate the National Youth Day.
He talked of the dreams of youth being shattered by the present state government repeatedly. “Using the dreams of the youth as a ladder to reach the pinnacle of power and the oppressive action of the government on the youths who are facing unemployment is the sad reality in Jharkhand presently,” he added.
Mahato criticized the government and claimed that the Soren government is rtesting the youth’s patience and crushing their continuous efforts in building their future. “Due to the irrational and misleading policies of the Jharkhand government, thousands of youth of the state are on the streets and demanding justice. Despite several efforts, no means of employment have been provided to the youths due to the wrong policies of the government,” Mahato claimed.
Notably, the march originated from Argora and concluded at Bapu Vatika in Morhabadi.
Meanwhile, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Marwari College chapter organised programmes and seminars to commemorate the National Youth Day .
These programmes included elocution competition, mehandi competition and painting competition.
The programmes saw participation from several students were winners were awarded first, second, third prizes.
Addressing the students present on the occasion, Prof Jayaprakash Rajak, Economics Department of the college, who was present as a judge in this program, said, “Vivekananda is the source of inspiration for our youth. Youth should take inspiration from him and play a leading role in making and forming the present.”
