Jamshedpur, Dec 11: South Eastern Railway has loaded 126.45 million tonnes of originating freight in the first eight months i.e. April to November of the current financial year (2021-22), as against 108.11 million tonnes loaded in the corresponding period of last year, registering a growth of about 17 per cent .
There was also a rise of 21.45 per cent in originating freight revenue in comparison to the first eight months of the last fiscal.
Details available from SER’s commercial section revealed that from April to November, the revenue generation from originating freight loading has been Rs 10, 474 crores against Rs. 8,624 crores in the same period of the previous year.
The main commodities of freight loading during the first eight months of 2021-22 were iron ore, coal, pig iron , finished Steel, cement, fertilizer, petroleum products etc.
SER has loaded 70.27 million tonnes of iron ore during this period, which is 7.50 per cent more than the corresponding period of the previous fiscal.
