Ranchi, June 17: The District Compassionate Committee has provided government jobs to youths of total 111 dependent families that included 82 under Group C service category and 29 under the Group D service in various offices in West Singhbhum.

The main purpose of the formation of this committee is to make recommendations for granting compassionate appointments to the dependents of government servants who died during the service. Through this committee, relief is being provided to the family of the concerned government servant to aid them in recovering from the testing times.

The recommendation of the Compassionate Committee not only helps in improving the future life of the people, but also keeps them motivated to move forward relentlessly.

If viewed in the context of the West Singhbhum district, after the month of April-2021 till the month of May-2022, the meeting of the District Compassionate Committee was called for about 8 times in the presence of the revered members of the Compassionate Committee.

During each meeting, decisions were taken after the required scrutiny of the applications of the compassionate cases received in the establishment office and recommendations were made to give permanent jobs to the concerned dependents.

Currently employed with the establishment office, Abhishek Karavan tells his father Late. Shivprasad Karavan was working in the Chaibasa Municipal Council and he unfortunately died during his service.

“I submitted an application to the establishment office for a job and after getting a recommendation in the year 2021, I got a government job. Today my family and I are very happy. He has been giving his service in the Collectorate itself,” he said.

There are many more such people whose lives are being strengthened and secured by the efforts that are being made by the West Singhbhum District Compassionate Committee. The expressions of happiness are clearly reflected on the faces of all these young men and women, who had to undertake a long walk from despair to light.

This has brought in a new streak of hope and they have been expressing their gratitude towards all the members of the District Compassionate Committee including the Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren, and the West Singhbhum District Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal, stating that due to the required efforts made by all of them, the lost vigor and joy has found its way back to their lives.

“We all are making headway on the path of life with a new enthusiasm and hope. Wishing you all the very best from us and our family members to help us get rid of all the turbulence that we met in the course of our lives,” he said.

After the recommendation of the Compassionate Committee, the permanent roles given to the dependents of the deceased government servants are meant to provide them with their rights.
