Mumbai, Dec10: Actor Ranveer Singh’s upcoming film ’83’ seems to be in trouble even before its release. The name of actress Deepika Padukone is also coming out in this case. According to a media report, a financer from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has approached the Metropolitan Magistrate Court in Mumbai and filed a fraud case against the makers of the film ’83’.
The case has been registered under sections 405, 406, 415, 418, 420 and 120B of IPC. The complaint alleges that he had negotiated investment in the film with Vibri Media. In this conversation, he was promised good returns for his investment in the film. The financer had invested Rs 16 crore. But now the makers have turned back from this.
The financer’s advocate Rizwan Siddiqui said on the statement given to the media, “It is absolutely true that my client has filed a complaint of fraud and conspiracy against the makers of the film ’83’. Because my client had no other option but to take legal action. Together with the makers, we tried to resolve the matter amongst ourselves. But none of the makers listened to my client, that’s why we have approached the court.”
