India announces Under-19 squad for Asia Cup, Yash Dhull to lead

New Delhi, Dec 10: The All-India Junior Selection Committee has announced a 20 member India U19 squad for the upcoming ACC U19 Asia Cup that is scheduled to start from December 23 in the UAE.

The command of the Under-19 team has been given to Yash Dhull, a resident of Delhi. The team has two wicket-keepers in the form of Dinnesh Bana and Aaradhya Yadav. The selectors have also announced a 25 member squad for a preparatory camp at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru from December 11-19.

Interestingly, India will face Pakistan on 25 December. Two days later, the team will take on Afghanistan on December 27. The first semi-final of the tournament will be played on December 30 and the final will be played on January 1.

India’s squad for the ICC Men’s U19 Cricket World Cup which will be played in January-February 2022 in the West Indies will be announced later on.

Notably, Indian team has won the most under-19 Asia Cup. Till now the team has won the Asia Cup 7 times.

The complete squad is as follows- Yash Dhull (Captain), Harnoor Singh Pannu, Angrish Raghuvanshi, Ansh Gosai, SK Rasheed, Anneshwar Gautam, Siddharth Yadav, Kaushal Tambe, Nishant Sindhu, Dinnesh Bana (wk), Aaradhya Yadav(wk), Rajangad Bawa, Rajvardhan Hangargekar, Garv Sangwan, Ravi Kumar, Rishith Reddy, Manav Parakh, Amrit Raj Upadhyay, Vicky Ostwal, Vasu Vats.

Standby players- Ayush Singh Thakur, Uday Saharan, Shashwat Dangwal, Dhanush Gowda, PM Singh Rathore.
