Ranchi, July 26: Congress workers on Tuesday protested against the ‘politically motivated’ ED action against Congress National President Sonia Gandhi by organizing a peaceful Satyagraha program in front of Bapu Vatika located at Morabadi in the capital Ranchi.

On this occasion, senior state Congress leader Alok Kumar Dubey said that even before this, on the call of ED, Sonia Gandhi had gone to the ED office and said that she is ready to stay till 9 pm to answer the question. But at that time the ED officials said that they had got the answers to all the questions, but once again at the behest of political masters, the ED summoned Sonia Gandhi.

Dubey said that the ED is taking action against the Congress President in such a case, the newspaper which did the work of raising the voice of the public even under the British rule and during that also it had to face many restrictions, now once again the work of harassing the nationalist newspaper is being done under the BJP rule.

He said that Congress workers are protesting in Gandhian manner through Satyagraha and the people of the country are standing with Sonia Gandhi along with every worker doing the party.

State OBC President Abhilash Sahu and Sports Cell Chairman Amarendra Singh said that the National Herald case, which was closed by the ED 8 years ago, was politically motivated by the ED at the behest of the central government to tarnish the image of Sonia Gandhi.

Congress leader Alok Dubey has strongly condemned the detention of Rahul Gandhi by the police saying its height of anarchy is that the son of martyrs is being detained by police for raising voice against atrocity.

“When he raised his voice inside the house, he was suspended. When staged a peaceful demonstration he was arrested,” Dubey said, expressing his concern over the action against the Gandhi family.

Earlier, the party workers garlanded the statue of Gandhi and sat taking placards in his hands carrying messages like ‘stop working in the spirit of revenge’, ‘Modi Shah, stop the politics of vengeance’, ‘Bol Re Saathi Halla Bol Darta Kesse Halla Bol’, ‘Satyagrahi will win, the ruling party will lose’ besides others.
