New Delhi: A heated debate broke out in the Lok Sabha on Monday as Congress MP Praniti Shinde described Operation Sindoor as nothing more than a “media spectacle” orchestrated by the government. Criticising the military engagement, she questioned the lack of official details about what was actually achieved, including the number of terrorists neutralised, fighter jets lost, and who was accountable.

Demand for Transparency from Government
Shinde alleged that the country has been left in the dark over concrete outcomes of the operation. “Nobody is telling us what was achieved. How many terrorists were apprehended? How many of our fighter aircraft were lost? Who is responsible, and where does the fault lie? These are the answers the government must provide,” she said, intensifying pressure on the treasury benches to reveal more about the high-stakes military offensive.

LJP MP Defends Operation, Hails ‘New India’
Countering Shinde’s remarks, LJP (Ram Vilas) MP Shambhavi Choudhary passionately defended the operation, declaring, “This is a New India that cremated the enemies after the terror attack.” She said the nation follows the peace path shown by Buddha and Mahavira, but won’t hesitate to wield Ram’s bow and Krishna’s Sudarshan Chakra when national security is at stake. Choudhary also remarked on misplaced sympathies, claiming, “It’s unfortunate that there are still people in our country who mourn Palestine more than Pahalgam because it suits their politics.”
