New Delhi, June 20: Congress general secretary Ajay Maken said that the Congress will hold a satyagraha and will demand the President withdraw the Agnipath recruitment scheme today.
“After Satyagraha at Jantar Mantar today, in the evening at 5 pm we’ll meet the President and demand that the Agnipath scheme be withdrawn,” said Congress’ Ajay Maken.
Before implementing the system, he believes it should be discussed with the youth. “The scheme should be debated with young people and in Parliament first, but it should be withdrawn first,” he continued.
Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi is appearing before the ED for the fourth time today in connection with the National Herald case, prompting the Congress leaders to organise a march.
Protests have also erupted across the country over the grand old party’s opposition to the new armed forces recruitment scheme Agnipath.
