Haryana, April 9: Bhupinder Singh Hooda, a senior member of the Congress, narrowly escaped a car accident on his way to Hisar, Haryana, on Sunday. The accident happened after a “nilgai” hit the former chief minister’s car close to Barwala in Haryana, according to the police.

The 75-year-old leader was on his way to a gathering when the event took place.
The event caused damage to the car’s front bumper.

“A nilgai suddenly appeared on the road and hit Mr Hooda’s vehicle. However, he escaped unhurt and no one else in the vehicle received any injury,” Hisar’s Superintendent of Police Ganga Ram Punia told PTI.

When contacted by PTI, Hooda said, “The animal hit our vehicle, but everyone is safe. I am continuing with my programmes and am headed to a village for a function.”
