Congress’s only Lok Sabha MP from Maharashtra, Balu Dhanorkar dies

New Delhi, May 30: Suresh alias Balu Dhanorkar, the lone Lok Sabha member for the Congress from Maharashtra, passed away early on Tuesday at a Gurgaon private hospital where he had been hospitalised due to complications from kidney stone removal surgery, a party leader said. He was 47 years old.

Dhanorkar is survived by his wife Pratibha, an MLA, and their two sons.

“Balubhau breathed his last early Tuesday morning while undergoing treatment at a private hospital,” Maharashtra Congress spokesperson Atul Londhe said.

President Droupadi Murmu, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Indian Youth Congress President Srinivas B V, and other leaders expressed their condolences for Dhanorkar’s passing.
