Worldwide, the number of people who lost their lives due to the corona virus pandemic has reached close to 5 million. At present 49.97 lakh people have died due to corona infection in the world. According to Reuters, 2.5 million of these deaths occurred in more than a year, while the next 2.5 million deaths took just 236 days, or less than 8 months. This happened due to the second wave of Corona.
In the last seven days, 8 thousand people in the world died due to corona infection. That is, every 5 minutes a person dies due to corona. The US, Russia, Brazil, Mexico and India accounted for more than half of the world’s average deaths in the last seven days. However, according to the report, the death rate of corona in the world has declined in the last few weeks.
India reported 24,354 new cases in the last 24 hours, informed the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Saturday. The active cases account for less than 1% of total cases, currently at 0.81%, the lowest since March 2020.
On the other hand, according to the data from Johns Hopkins University, 7,00,258 Americans have died and more than 43.61 million have been infected by the virus till now. In addition to this researcher at the University of Washington project that an additional 100,000 Americans will die during the forthcoming winter.
Notably, the delta variant is currently the most dangerous variant of corona virus and has been reported in 187 out of 194 countries of the world.
