Jamshedpur, Aug 26: Local civic bodies resumed Covid-19 tests across various public places of steel city on Thursday.

Officials of Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee ( JNAC ) and health department officials started conducting the RT-PCR test at Sakchi market and other places from 10 am.

The Covid test was also carried out at Golmuri Chowk, Sitaramdera Bus Terminus, and Pardih Chowk on NH-33.

Each of the teams was given a target of collecting 200 samples for RT-PCR tests.

JNAC officials said the drive was carried out following a directive from the state health department.

Today’s drive was meant for urban areas. A similar drive would resume in the rural areas later this week.

Meanwhile, authorities of JNAC sealed four shops at Sonari last night for violation of Covid norms.

According to JNAC officials, the shops were sealed as they defied Covid protocols.

” The shops failed to ensure social distancing norms and other Covid guidelines, ” said a JNAC official.
