New Delhi, Feb 12: Amit Shah, the union home minister, claimed on Sunday that the CPI(M) proved they would lose the Tripura assembly elections by joining forces with the Congress.

At the Vijay Sankalp rally held at the Chandipur Assembly, Shah stated, “CPI(M) shown by allying with Cong that they will lose the popular vote. They needed help to take against the BJP.”

“Congress must feel ashamed, they aligned with CPI(M) who killed so many of their members. They have also made Tipra Modha a pawn,” Shah added.

Shah further stated that the BJP government has provided health insurance and drinking water was supplied to all the houses.

“Transported gas cylinders, did the work of building toilets, and did the work of giving food for free,” he added.

He continued by saying that if the task of granting respect rights to everyone had been completed, it had been carried out by the Manik Saha government under the direction of the Modi government. On Sunday, Tripura, which is up for election, will host two rallies and a roadshow by Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

At around 11:00 a.m., Shah started his day by going to the Mata Tripura Sundari Temple in the Tripuran town of Udaipur. The Home Minister will do a road show in the Pratapgarh Assembly constituency later on in the day, around 4 pm.

In an effort to support the BJP’s campaign, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke at two rallies in Tripura on Saturday. He blasted the Left-Congress alliance in the state, claiming they had disregarded the interests of the people.

A record was set when the BJP-led coalition overthrew the Left Front government in the previous elections.

On February 16, elections will be conducted in Tripura for 60 seats. On March 2, there will be a vote count.

The Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT), a partner party, is running for five seats, while the Bharatiya Janata Party is running for 55.
