He resigned from the Congress party on February 23. He said that he has not seen any “vestiges of the values” that have motivated him to work for the party for the past 20 years in a letter to AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge.
He explained in a letter to the party’s national president that he had turned down a national-level organisational role and had stayed away from the Bharat Jodo Yatra because he could not tolerate what the party stood for at the time.
The senior leader claimed that despite his 22 years of membership in the Congress party, the party’s strategy had become neither proactive nor specific over time.
