Mumbai, Feb 16: Bappi Lahiri, a well-known singer and composer in Indian cinema who popularised disco music in the 1980s and 1990s, died on Wednesday after suffering from severe health concerns. He was also admitted to the hospital in April of last year after testing positive for coronavirus. Following the news of Bappi Lahiri’s death, a number of fans flocked to social media to pay tribute to the iconic singer.

Social media was also used by the Indian cricket community to convey their pain and loss. Legendary Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar expressed his condolences for Lahiri’s passing on his official Twitter account, saying the singer’s spectrum of talent was genuinely extraordinary.

“I really enjoyed Bappi Da’s music, especially “yaad aa raha hai” – heard it several times in the dressing room. The range of his talent was truly amazing,” he tweeted.
