Jamshedpur, Nov 11: Two bike-borne criminals looted a car after assaulting the vehicle owner in the Golmuri locality of the steel city past midnight.
The victim Sajal Kumar Sonekar who is an Ola car operator had to part with his car while he was getting his vehicle refuelled at a petrol pump in Golmuri around 12.30 am on Thursday.
According to an lodged with the Golmuri thana, Sajal who is a resident of Shastrinagar in Kadma, ventured out of his house at about 11.30 pm to meet his order for carrying a passenger in the Telco area. On returning from Telco, he stopped at a fuel station in Golmuri for getting his vehicle refuelled.
As soon as Sonekar started the car near the petrol pump, two bike-borne men intercepted him and asked him to carry a passenger somewhere in Ranchi. But as he refused to oblige, one of the bike riders forced him to get out of the car and started assaulting him.
According to the FIR, the two assailants had driven the victim a little distance away by thrashing him and subsequently snatched the car’s key from his hand. The duo also took away the wallet and cell phone from the victim’s pant pocket before speeding away with the looted car.
The victim who was already injured somehow manage to get into an ambulance and reached the MGM medical college hospital from where he informed the police and also his family members.
OC, Golmuri thana, Arvind Kumar confirmed the crime and said that they are trying to trace the looted car and the criminals involved soon.
