Ranchi, Aug 22: The technical cell of Jharkhand Police swung into action after an unidentified cybercriminal created fake Twitter in the name of Kalpana Soren, who is the wife of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren.
The development took place after an FIR was registered at the Gonda police station in Ranchi.
The account was created on August 20. The photo of Hemant Soren and Kalpana Soren appeared on the Twitter handle. As many as 12 tweets have so far been made till Sunday night from the Twitter account.
Some of the tweets are related to the political situation of Jharkhand. The introduction in the tweet states that this is a personal Twitter handle which has been created to present views on various topics related to the welfare of the people of Jharkhand.
Twitter had not verified this account. The Twitter handle of any minister or JMM leader including Chief Minister Hemant Soren did not follow this account. The verified Twitter handle of JMM also did not follow this Twitter account, while only President Droupadi Murmu was followed by this Twitter handle.
When contacted, the officer-in-charge of Gonda police station Ravi Thakur said that after the matter came into his knowledge the account was removed. On being asked whether the police have arrested anyone in this connection, OC Thakur said: “Criminal will soon come into the police net.”
