Cyclonic circulation triggers rain at many places across Jharkhand

Jamshedpur, Sept 20 :  A cyclonic circulation over  the Bay of Bengal triggered rainfall across many places across Jharkhand on Monday.
 
The cyclonic circulation was hovering over north west Bay of Bengal and neighbouring areas of Odisha and West Bengal coasts extending between 1.5 Km and 5.8 Km above the mean sea level.
 
Weathermen said the monsoon trough was also active over the state as it was crossing through Daltonganj.
Several other places including Chatra, Gumla, Khunti ,Latehar, Lohardaga, Ramgarh, parts of Ranchi, Jamshedpur, West Singhbhum and Seraikela-Kharsawan district witnessed intermittent rains on Monday due to the impact of the cyclonic circulation.
According to Met statistics, around 15 IMD observatories recorded rainfall between 10mm and 15 mm.
Weathermen said the impact of the cyclonic circulation will remain for the next two days.
The forecast indicated rain accompanied by moderate thunder and lightning for the next two days.
Met data  revealed that against a normal of 986 mm, the state has so far actually received 937 mm of rain, a deficit of five per cent.
Weathermen said the southern and north-western parts of Jharkhand was expected to get a good spell of rain during the next two days.
