Daltonganj, June 3: Vice Chancellor of the Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee university Ranchi Dr Tapan Kumar Shandilya on Friday assumed the charge of the interim VC of the Nilamber Pitamber university Daltonganj.
He met the university officers and spent time with them till past 6 in the evening before leaving for Ranchi telling them about he will come on the coming Tuesday.
Registrar of the NPU Dr Rakesh Kumar said the interim VC has made a plan to be here for 3 days in a week.
Proctor Dr K C Jha said he sounded concerned about the status of the various examinations and had desired to review the fleet of the examinations in the pipeline on Tuesday.
Sources said that the interim VC wanted that the examinations should not be delayed in order to keep the academic session regular.
Shandilya is to deal with routine work like ordering release of salary, pension etc besides correspondences incoming and outgoing.
The ABVP activists met him and apprised him of the affairs of the university.
The Chancellor’s office is right on the job for selecting VCs and Pro VCs, applications for which are to be filed online till June 5 for scrutiny of it by a search committee set up for it.
Sources said by the end of the third week of this month the four state universities where the posts of the VCs are vacant like NPU Daltonganj, VBU Hazaribag, KU Chaibasa and SKMU Dumka (going to be vacant) will have VCs.
