Daltonganj, January 1: The Daltonganj railway station under the East Central Railway of the Dhanbad division is set to get an additional foot over bridge and its first lift on platforms 1 and 2.

The already existing foot over bridge is still in working condition, however, is an old structure. The lifts will be new additions here.

A railway official said that the foot over bridge and the lifts are expected to be ready by Holi in 2023.

“Notably, both projects are worth more than Rs 4 crores,” said the railway official.

“Daltonganj railway station comes under non suburban group 4 with average daily flow of over 6,000 passengers,” said A K Tiwary, station superintendent, Daltonganj railway station.

Tiwary further added that the lifts and the additional foot over bridge will add to the amenities available for the passengers but we will also need to make sure that lifts are not misused as well.
