Ranchi, Aug 24: An English language conference was organised on Wednesday at DAV Kapildev Public School, Kadru, which saw the participation of several scholars of the city. The chief guest at the conference was Gauri Shankar Jha, HoD, Department of English, Ranchi University.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal M K Sinha said that the importance of literature is increasing day by day and such events develop creative expression in Jharkhand.
Chief guest Jha said that to learn the English language, people should start with simple sentences. While one can first start writing a diary to improve writing ability. He further asked students to develop the habit of reading.
Prof Meena Sinha from Gossner College said that children should develop the habit of reading. There are many possibilities in the field of literature. It is of great importance for earning money. The third speaker, Professor Bhavesh Jha, motivated the children to speak English fluently. According to him, reading out aloud enhances the ability to speak. After this, the scholars gave answers to the questions asked by the children.
In the conference, Professor Gauri Shankar Jha (HOD, Ranchi University English Department), Bhavesh Jha, Ram Lakhan Singh Yadav, retired Professor (English Department), Meena Sinha, Associate Professor, Mass Communication, (Gossner College), school’s English teacher Pashupatinath Jha, Gautam Kumar Pathak, Tripurari Kumar Mishra, and the children of 11th and 12th classes were present.
