Ranchi: The trial in the sexual harassment case against former DAV Kapildev School principal Manoj Kumar Sinha has concluded at Ranchi Civil Court, with AJC Arvind Kumar’s court reserving the verdict on Saturday. The judgment will be pronounced on May 21.

Background of the Case

An FIR was registered at Argoda police station in May 2022 against Manoj Kumar Sinha, the then principal of DAV Kapildev School, on charges of sexual harassment and making obscene demands to a female nurse employed at the school. He was subsequently suspended, and in November 2022, the High Court granted him bail. However, after his release, the victim alleged that he threatened and pressured her, following which she approached the High Court seeking cancellation of his bail.

Bail Cancelled, Supreme Court Also Denies Relief

The High Court accepted the victim’s plea and cancelled Sinha’s bail. He then approached the Supreme Court but found no relief there either. Following this, he surrendered before the court and was sent back to jail. The investigating officer had filed a chargesheet before the court on July 25, 2022 after completing the investigation.

Trial Concluded, Both Sides Heard

The trial before AJC Arvind Kumar’s court has now been completed with both sides fully heard. The court has reserved its order and will deliver the judgment on May 21.
