Dhanbad, Oct 12: DAV School Sindri will host the national sports cluster level-1 competition for the first time from October 14 to 15 in Rangamati, Sindri.
School Principal Ashutosh Kumar said that in the two-day competition, 391 boys and girls students of 15 schools teams of North Chhotanagpur and Santhal Pargana Division will participate in five events including wrestling, Judo, Karate Taekwondo and Wushu.
Atul Dutta, director of ACC Sindri Cement Works Plant, would be the chief guest inaugural function of the sports competition and Arun Kumar, assistant regional officer (independent charge) Jharkhand zone, will grace the occasion as the guest of honour. This is the second time DAV School Sindri is hosting a cluster level mega sports competition. Earlier, the institution had conducted a DVA inter-school Kabbadi competition.
Sports teacher of the school cum organizing secretary Ranjan Kumar said that both the grounds of the senior and junior wings of the institution have been prepared to conduct all five events of the competition smoothly. Panels of qualified technical persons (referees) have been constituted to conduct the match properly.
For the successful organizing of the competition, an organizing committee under the chairmanship of principal Ashutosh Kumar has been formed. Cluster in-charge Mana Priya Chatterjee, sports teacher Ranjan Kumar, Rajiv Ranjan and Prajesh Choubey are other members of the organizing committee.
