Ranchi, Jan 4: With the increasing number of covid patients in Jharkhand, arrangements are being made in hospitals so that the number of infected people growing rapidly can be reduced.
In view of this, Ranchi DC Chhavi Ranjan reached Sadar Hospital on Tuesday to take stock of the arrangements. At present, 18 Covid patients are admitted to Sadar Hospital.
DC reprimanded the junior engineer on the bad road from the main gate of the hospital to the gate of the building. There is a gap of about 4 feet in the leveling between the path and the drain.
Along with this, DC took stock of the arrangement and facilities of beds in the hospital. He directed the civil surgeon and other officials to convert the entire hospital into a covid hospital.
He also directed for the appointment of medical staff and sanitation workers at these places as per the need.
While inspecting the ICU Covid-19 ward, the DC directed the civil surgeon to leave the ICU beds and use them only for the serious patients as it would become troublesome if more serious patients come in a day.
“First fill all the normal Covid-19 beds which are lying vacant and use ICU beds if the normal gets filled,” the DC said.
During the inspection, DC said that about 80% of work has been done in Sadar Hospital. There are some minor works, which are left about which the engineer and the department have been informed.
Seeing the arrangements for Covid-19, he said, “We should try to provide more and more beds to the people. At present, 240 beds are functional in Sadar Hospital. Along with beds, PSA plants have also been installed in hospitals for oxygen. So that no one will suffer due to lack of oxygen and no one will need to carry cylinders.”
