Ranchi, Aug.2: BJP legislature Dhullu Mahto’s finger caused disruption in Jharkhand assembly proceedings today.

It sounds bizarre, but this has actually happened as Mahto had pointed his finger towards JMM legislature Sudivya Kumar Sonu while bringing the death of over 100 tribals from Giridih assembly constituency within past two months to the notice of the House. Sonu, who represents Giridih constituency, took strong exception to it saying that problem of migration is not confined to his constituency alone but is a state problem and thus pointing a particular area is not right.

As Sonu reacted, the argument triggered and did not stop despite interference of assembly speaker Rabindranath Mahto. Parliamentary affairs minister Alamgir Alam also took strong exception to Mahto’s behavior and asked the speaker to stop Mahto from doing so.  The situation got so tense that the speaker suspended the proceedings for 20 minutes, hardly 10 minutes after the House came into motion.

After 20 minutes when proceedings started began, the speaker suspended it till 12.30pm after observing the chaotic situation in the house.

Mahto named Simar Toli, Jalokol and Peedtand under Giridih constituency in the house and let the house know that workers are getting killed while getting involved in wrong business. He urged the house to take cognizance of the matter as all those getting killed are tribals. He said within the last eight days one died after getting covered in a coal dump while another died in Mumbai.
