Ranchi, April 5: The Jharkhand High Court today took strong exception to the delay in the appointment of home guards in Dhanbad district.
This was reflected during the hearing of the case by a bench of Justice S.N.Pathak, when the judge asked about the action taken after the court order in the matter on August 18 last year.
After the court realised that nothing had been done, it expressed its concern asking the authorities to reply to the matter.
The court observed that the senior superintendent of police of the district sent a probe report on the allegation of corruption and appointment to home guard headquarters but neither action was taken on the basis of the report nor the copy of the report was made available to the court.
The court directed the authorities to file an affidavit in the matter deferred hearing till April 25.
A section of petitioners including Rita Kumari, Chotan Kumar Singh, Sagar Kumar Thakur, Anil Kumar Mahto, Videsh Kumar Rajak and Marang Marandi had filed the petition in the matter.
