New Delhi, Aug 20: Manish Sisodia, the deputy chief minister and leader of the AAP, was demanded to quit during a large rally organised by Congress members on Saturday in Delhi. After the Excise Minister was identified as the key suspect in the Liquor Policy scandal, a demonstration was organised outside the Rouse Avenue building in New Delhi under the direction of DPCC President Anil Kumar.

The news comes a day after the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) searched Sisodia’s home for 14 hours in an effort to look into possible violations of the recently abolished liquor regulation.

Additionally, the homes of former Commissioner Excise E. Gopikrishan, two other public workers, and others were raided by the investigation teams.

Sisodia asserted his innocence and that the CBI was acting at the direction of the Center. Following the raids at the home of the deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia, AAP leader and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal held a digital press conference on Friday.

Sisodia received Kejriwal’s full support and praise, claiming that Sisodia had been named the world’s finest education minister after being highlighted on the top page of the New York Times.

The AAP leader will also conduct a press conference today at noon to discuss the issue.
