New Delhi, Sept 20: A Delhi court dismissed a petition on Tuesday that claimed ownership of the land where the Qutub Minar complex is located.
Through attorney ML Sharma, a man named Kunwar Mahendra Dhwaj Prasad Singh submitted an intervention plea claiming ownership of all the land between the Ganga and the Yamuna from Agra to Gurugram.
Judge Dinesh Kumar informed the attorneys representing the various parties who were present through video conference, “Application has been dismissed.”
The court also posted the hearing of the suit seeking restoration of puja inside the monument complex on October 19.
“I’m 78 now. 60-70 years I have been fighting. I still have the authority of being a sovereign king. Now the sovereignty was to be dominated to the Indian dominion but in my case it hasn’t been transferred (sic),” said Singh while addressing the court.
In addition, the candidate identified himself as the ruler of the unified provinces of Agra from the sixteenth century.
But the Court emphasised that the issue at hand had nothing to do with who owned the property.
