Delhi Police arrest two brothers from Dhanbad in Rs 41 lakh cheating case

Dhanbad, March 25: The Cyber cell special team of Delhi police on Friday arrested two cybercriminals, who are brothers, from the Muraidih area under Barora police station of the district in connection with a Rs 41 lakh cyber cheating case.

The Delhi police team under senior officer Manoj Kumar reached Dhanbad in the morning and with help of the Barora police station, arrested Pramod Kumar and Binod Kumar from their house.

Both are sons of a retired employee of Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL).

Delhi Police Sub Inspector Manoj Kumar told media persons that 51 victims in Delhi were cheated through a single mobile number. Based on mobile tower and mobile location, cyber cell teams of Delhi today conducted raids simultaneously in different states including the Dhanbad and Jamtara districts of Jharkhand.

He further said that based on complaints filed in the National Cyber Crime Portal, special teams were constituted to conduct simultaneous raids at six places.

Seven teams of 50 officers are involved in a special drive in which four cybercriminals in Dhanbad and two in Jamtara district have been arrested.

Three days ago, a team of Delhi police had arrested two persons from the Tundi block of Dhanbad.

The Delhi police team seized one laptop, credit cards and debit cards, SIM cards in large numbers and the mobile used in the crime. The police team took both the accused to Delhi for further action.
