Delhi Public School Ranchi holds quizzing fest

Ranchi, June 30: DPS Ranchi today organised an Inter School Quizzing Festival -“AD MELIORA” 2023 showcasing the intellectual prowess of young minds from various educational institutions all over Jharkhand.

The event drew an enthusiastic crowd of participants and spectators, with students displaying their knowledge and quick thinking in a battle of wits. Jayant Mishra, State Administrative Officer, Jharkhand Education Project Council graced the occasion as the chief guest.

More than 200 participants from 21 schools across the State took part in this initiative. The event aimed to foster healthy competition, encourage teamwork and ignite a passion for learning among the youth. The event was held in the sprawling Vivekananda Auditorium of DPS Ranchi.

Surendranath Centenary School, Taurian World School, Delhi Public School (Bokaro), Delhi Public School (Dhanbad), Oxford Public School, Vidya Vikas Public School, Sarala Birla Public School, Tender Heart Senior Secondary School, St. Xavier’s School (Dhurwa), St. Xaviers School (Doranda), Bridgeford School, St.Michaels School, St. Aloysius English Medium School, Sharda Global School, Kairali School, Bishop Westcott Boys School, Cambrian Public School, Bishop Westcott Girls School, Loyola Convent School, ODM Sapphire Global School and Shradhanand Bal Mandir Senior Secondary School  sent their crown quizzers for participating in this contest accompanied by their mentors.

The quiz competition was conducted in three stages. A wide range of questions related to popular culture viz entertainment (such as films, music, television, video games), sports, news, politics, fashion, technology etc were asked by the Quizmasters. Apart from Quiz, three more competitions ‘Arcanum Aenigma Cryptic Crossword’, ‘Clavis Thesaurum Crptic Hunt’ and ‘Lords Temporal Literature Session’ were also organised under this initiative.

After the final round of quiz competition, the team of Vidya Vikas Public School was bestowed with the First Position and they bagged the cash prize of Rs.10,000. Team DPS Ranchi grabbed the Second Position and won the cash prize of Rs. 5,000. Also, Team DPS Dhanbad secured the Third Position and bagged the cash prize of Rs. 3,000.

In Arcanum Aenigma Cryptic Crossword competition, team DPS Bokaro were declared as the winners with the First Position and they bagged the cash prize of Rs 5,000. Team DPS Ranchi grabbed the Second Position and won the cash prize of Rs. 3,000 while Team Loyola Convent School secured the Third Position and bagged the cash prize of Rs. 2,000.

In Clavis Thesaurum Crptic Hunt competition, team ODM Sapphire Global School were declared as winners with the First Position and they bagged the cash prize of Rs 5,000. Team DPS Ranchi grabbed the Second Position and won the cash prize of Rs. 3,000 while team Oxford Public School secured the Third Position and bagged the cash prize of Rs. 2,000.

In Lords Temporal literature session, team Bishop Westcott Girls School were declared as winner.

The school which emerged with maximum points was DPS Ranchi, however the champions trophy was bagged by Vidya Vikas Public School as it got the second highest points after DPS Ranchi, which was not vying for the Champions trophy award being the host school.

DPS Ranchi Principal Dr. Ram Singh applauded the inquisitiveness existing in children and the inclination towards gaining knowledge and developing intelligence.
