Dhanbad, March 24: The Dhanbad police today registered a murder case under Section 302 of the IPC against an unidentified accused in DeNobili School Sindri class 10 student  Ashmit Akash matter finally after 24 hours of the incident. The student had died in the classroom in a mysterious condition on Wednesday.

Sindri police station officer-in-charge Rajiv Kumar said that on the statement of the student’s father Prafull Kumar a case under IPC Section 302 has been registered today and police have started the investigation.

The father of the student has alleged that some students killed his son in the classroom and the school management is protecting them. He also charged that the school has tempered the CCTV camera footage in which three minutes of footage is missing.

However, Principal Chandrashekhar Francis pleaded that since power was out for three minutes between 10.27 am to 10.30 am, its footage is missing.

Earlier, on the directive of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sandip Singh, the postmortem was conducted under videography late at night of Wednesday at Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College Hospital (SNMMCH). The doctors have preserved the viscera.

On the request of deceased student’s father Prafull Kumar, the DC also set up five members Medical Board of senior professors comprising  Dr J Rao  (FMT), Dr UK Ojha ( medicine), Dr Makradhwaj Prasad ( anatomy), Dr  Rajesh Kumar ( surgery), Dr Vishisth of the pathology department to review the post-mortem report. The Board reportedly did not find any internal and external injury in the body.

Class-10 student Ashmit Akash was found unconscious in the classroom as the class started after recess time.  He was taken to a doctor of the local clinic of Sindri who referred him to  SNMMCH Dhanbad where doctors declared him brought dead.

After the post mortem, Sindri DSP Abhishek Singh today again reached the school and inspected the classroom CCTV footage and interrogated 10 students of class -10 but reportedly did not get any clue regarding the alleged scuffle in the classroom between Ashmit and his classmates.

“No student would be spared if the involvement of any student is found in the incident,” said DSP Abhishek Singh.
